SQA Update – 26 January 2021

The school is currently waiting on SQA and Scottish Government publishing all key information in relation to this year’s National Qualification process following the decision to cancel final exams at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher level. We appreciate that the continued uncertainty is a real worry for pupils and their parents/carers.

SQA guidance on gathering key evidence for provisional results in National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher qualifications will be published for all subjects by 29 January 2021. This key information will enable the school to plan accordingly for this year’s certification model based on SQA guidelines.

The current remote learning situation has resulted in the postponement of our senior phase assessments that were planned for January/February 2021. We still hope to reschedule these for when pupil’s return to the school setting and we would encourage all senior phase pupils to continue to study for their subjects, as well as engaging in the new experiences that are being delivered through remote learning. Please be reassured that pupils will receive appropriate notice about their rescheduled assessments.

To provide answers to some of the questions that we have been asked by pupils and parents/carers, we will publish a ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ document next week.

Information for pupils and parents/carers can be found on the SQA website.

We appreciate your ongoing patience and support and will provide a further update in due course.
