Welcome to Strathaven Academy Library

School libraries have a vital role to play in the learning of children and young people, facilitating the Curriculum for Excellence. They empower pupils, school staff and the wider community in their learning, provide a service to improve school-leaver destinations, promote all forms of literacy, and support the role for lifelong learning in children and young people.

The library is managed by Mrs Rodway, it is a welcoming space, with weekly games club, monthly manga club and the ever-popular monthly Starbooks Café.

We celebrate reading and literacy throughout the year with various activities and events.

Pupils have the opportunity to visit the library and borrow books with their English class, or can come along during interval or lunchtimes.

Pupils and staff are welcome to use the library for quiet study, use the computers for homework and to borrow from our excellent selection of books.

Library opening times:

Alternate Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays

8.30am – 4.00pm including interval and lunchtimes

Manga club last Wednesday of the month
