We are looking forward to the first IDL of the year. The week will kick off with S1 and S2 Assemblies on Monday morning where this year’s Reading Challenge will be launched and prizes distributed for the Front Covercompetition run by the Art and Design department, the Summer Selfie competition and to those who met theReading Challenge last year.
Pupils in S1 to S3 will have reading registration every day next week and it looks like there will lots of activities in class for all year groups throughout the week with Faculties organising subject specific reading tasks.
Outside of class there are a small number of extra-curricular activities – a spelling bee, book themed Drama Club, riddles in the street.
Reading Hour will be on Thursday P4 and pupils are encouraged to DEAR (drop everything and read) for the period. This could be personal reading or subject related reading.
