We are all entering an unprecedented and uncertain period. Our immediate thoughts turn to our families, friends and loved ones to ensure they are safe, healthy and supported at this time. We should also pause for a moment and reflect on the challenges faced in Scotland and in other countries across the world.
Strathaven Academy plays a crucial role in the life of our community, and while our interaction with young people and their families will change over the weeks and months, we will work together to ensure learning and support continues.
I ask that we all act responsibly, looking after one another and observing advice around matters such as social distancing. We should always respect others and help in any way we can. In this moment, like no other in our lifetime, we must display resilience, in order to overcome the challenges that lie ahead.
We will strive to support all of our young people, parents/carers and staff in these exceptional circumstances. Our school community will return together, at some point in the future, to resume learning and teaching at the Academy.
To all of our leavers, I wish you every success for the future, secure in the knowledge that you will be fantastic ambassadors for our school. To our S6, I give you my word that we will gather together and celebrate this important passage in your life.
Take care
Mr K Boyd
