SQA Key Dates for Coursework/Assignments 2025

As you will be aware, there are numerous deadlines set by SQA for required assignments and coursework allocated for SQA courses. To support this process, we would like to draw your attention to the following dates/information within each faculty. Please click on each subject area/level of study your child is entered for to further information.

National 5 English

  • Folio Submission: 5th March

Pupils should ensure they meet the deadline for English Folio work to receive all possible feedback.

Higher English

  • Folio Submission: 24th March

Pupils should ensure they meet the deadline for English Folio work to receive all possible feedback.

Advanced Higher English Dissertation

  • Submission Date: 31st March

National 5 Drama

  • Assessment Date: 20th March

Higher Drama

  • Assessment Dates: 25th and 26th March

Drama Performance: Pupils should take advantage of any additional rehearsal opportunities with Mrs. Breddy and Mr. McNulty to prepare for the assessments.

Art and Design

  • N5 (S4 and S5): All folio work, including evaluation, must be completed by 28th March 2025.
  • Higher (S5 and S6): All folio work, including evaluation, must be completed by 28th March 2025.
  • Advanced Higher (S6): All folio work, including evaluation and Contextual Analysis, must be completed by 16th May 2025.

Photography

  • Higher (S5 and S6): All folio work, including evaluation, must be completed by 16th May 2025.

Music

  • N5 (S4 and S5): All assignments must be completed by 2nd April 2025
  • Higher (S5 and S6): All assignments must be completed by 2nd April 2025
  • Advanced Higher (S6): All assignments must be completed by 2nd April 2025.

Key Points:

  • For Art and Design and Photography, make sure that the folio and evaluation work is wrapped up by their respective deadlines.
  • For Music, ensure that all assignments are completed by 2nd April 2025 to meet the deadline.

National 5 French & Spanish Speaking Exams:

  • Final Speaking Exam (25% of overall grade): These exams will take place at the end of February/March. Pupils should revise their presentation and key vocabulary thoroughly.

N5 Spanish Speaking Exam Dates:

  • Monday 3rd March - Miss McDonald
  • Monday 24th February - Ms Browning
  • Tuesday 11th March - Ms Allan

N5 French Speaking Exam Dates:

  • Tuesday 26th February - Mr Greenberg
  • Tuesday 4th March - Ms Baran

National 5 French/Spanish Assignment (12.5% of final mark)

  • This will be packaged and sent before the Easter Holidays.

National 5 CV Writing (12.5% of final mark)

  • Pupils must learn their CV writing piece (pre-prepared job application letter/email) for the final exam:
    • Spanish: Monday 19th May
    • French: Tuesday 20th May

Higher French & Spanish

  • Higher/Advanced Higher French/Spanish Folios: Due by Friday 7th March

Higher French Speaking Exam: Tuesday 18th March

Higher Spanish Speaking Exam:

  • Monday 10th March
  • Monday 17th March

Key Points:

  • The Speaking Exam is crucial as it makes up 25% of the overall grade, so thorough revision is essential.
  • The National 5 Assignment and CV Writing piece contribute 12.5% each, so it's important to allocate time to prepare these.

NATIONAL 5 ACCOUNTING 

ASSIGNMENT:  Monday, 10th March.

The assignment will be a 2-hour assessment, conducted during the usual class time.

HIGHER ADMINISTRATION AND IT 

ASSIGNMENT: Monday 24th March.

Attendance on this day is crucial.
