Staff and pupils enjoyed the climb to the summit of Tinto Hill on Monday 21 May and Wednesday 23rd May. This annual expedition tests the fitness and determination of the participants as well as raising money for St Andrew’s Hospice. Pupils had a positive experience and admitted it was harder than they imagined. The weather was fair and everyone involved had a great day. Academy staff members Kath Reid and Lee Dykes also climbed Tinto on Sunday 13 May with volunteers to raise money for Kath’s daughter’s continuing Cancer treatment. They thank staff, pupils and the Strathaven community for their continued support.
