In light of the recent guidance published by the Scottish Government on the reopening of schools, we have been working hard to create information that will be helpful for young people and their families.
Please find below parental information leaflets from South Lanarkshire Council that give information on arrangements regarding the return to schools next week. One of the leaflets includes a link to a video that was made by Tony McDaid, Executive Director (Education Resources) and a link to the National Parent Forum for Scotland guidance on schools returning.
Additionally, on Monday, 10 August we will publish our Strathaven Academy Return to School Guide. This guide provides detailed information relating to our return and covers the following:
· Induction days
· Format of the school day (from Monday, 17 August)
· Arrangements for Interval and lunch
· Entry/exit and movement around the school building
· Physical distancing in school
· Hygiene routines
· Uniform and bringing in personal items
· Cleaning regimes
· School transport
· The use of PPE
· What actions to be taken if someone develops COVID-19 symptoms
· Attendance procedures
· Health and wellbeing.
We ask that parents/carers please take some time to read through this detailed guide with your child. Staff will explain and go over this information with pupils during their induction day(s).
This guide may be amended as we move forward and we will continue to publish updates along with other relevant information, such as risk assessments, on our school website.
It will be crucially important that we work together – young people, parents/carers and staff – to ensure the safety of our school and wider Strathaven community.
Take care and stay safe.
