Visit to Albert Bartlett Potato Processing Facility

This week, S4 Business Management students had the unique opportunity to visit the Albert Bartlett potato processing facility in Airdrie, enhancing their learning experience beyond the classroom. During the visit, students were introduced to the company’s diverse product range and learned about the complete journey of potatoes, from “field to fork.” The visit also highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainability and offered insights into the wide array of career paths available in the food industry.

The highlight of the trip was a guided factory tour, where students experienced first-hand the meticulous quality control procedures. They even had the chance to join employees on the high-speed conveyor belt, ensuring that only top-quality potatoes made it to the supermarket.

Amy and Eilidh, two S4 students, were particularly impressed by the scale of the facility and the variety of products it produced. Logan added, “It was a fantastic day! I really enjoyed visiting the factory— they even offered me a job!”
