Teamwork and co-operation are central to all drama activities and pupils will work in a variety of group formations to complete their practical tasks in class. Each unit of work will culminate in a live presentation to an audience of peers in class, which pupils will then self- and peer-evaluate.
S2
In S2, pupils have Drama once a week and are introduced to the subject through a series of units focusing on:
– Mime & Movement
– Issue-based Drama
– Pantomime & Production skills
– Theatre Conventions
– Voice & Characterisation
S3
In S3, pupils have Drama three periods a week. Pupils expand on the skills developed throughout S2, focusing specifically on Drama Skills & Production Skills. Pupils gain further confidence in performing and have greater opportunities to learn about lighting, sound, props, costume, make-up and sets.
